Education and Development
Play Based Educational Program
Belonging, Being and Becoming forms the foundation of our educational program at Bright Buttons Little Meadows, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. We believe this starts with a thoughtfully designed environment filled with endless discoveries to nurture each child’s learning journey.
Play is central to a child’s learning and development. Through play, babies and young children explore and learn to understand the world around them. They discover, imagine, explore and begin to communicate. Play-based education, a key focus of the Early Years Learning Framework, helps Early Childhood Teachers and Educators provide endless opportunities to maximise children’s learning potential and lay the foundation for lifelong learning success.
At Bright Buttons Little Meadows, our educational program is driven by each child’s interests and abilities, focusing on extending their learning and achieving developmental goals. Through the Early Years Learning Framework’s learning goals, our educators assist children to develop:
1. Strong Sense of Identity
2. Connections with and Contributions to Their World
3. Strong Sense of Wellbeing
4. Confidence and Involvement in Learning
5. Effective Communicators
Kindergarten Program
Bright Buttons Little Meadows delivers an Approved Kindergarten Program run by qualified Early Childhood Teachers. The Kindergarten Program provides children with opportunities to be involved in experiences which aim to foster and enhance children’s learning and development in preparation for Prep (Queensland's first formal year of school).
The Program is reviewed and evaluated weekly, and is directed to respond to the current developing needs and interests of children. Parent input plays an influential role in program developments, as we recognise the significant and complimentary roles parents play in the education of their children. Formal Parent-Teacher Interviews are offered annually, and parents are welcome to request a meeting at anytime.
Routines and transitions are an integral and meaningful part of the Kindergarten day and learning program. Routines include daily organisational practices, such as meal times, rest and relaxation, toileting, tidying up, greetings and farewells, and group learning times.
The Kindergarten Program runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm daily. With the Kindergarten Program comes the added flexibility of long day care, so parents are welcome to drop off and pick up their children at anytime during the Service’s operating times.
